Not all bouquets work with every body type and your choice of flowers should not only complement your dress, but reflect your personal style as well.  You can pick flowers based on their appearance or choose ones that convey specific cultural meaning. For example: daisies symbolize innocence and purity, roses symbolize love and orchids symbolize exotic beauty, refinement, thoughtfulness and charm.

Once you decide on the style and blooms you’d like for your bouquet – consider adding something personal to make it more meaningful and unique– family heirlooms like brooches or earrings can be a nice addition or trinkets that support the theme of the wedding are also fun.

Bridal Bouquet Arrangements:

  • Arm sheaf – Also known as a presentation bouquet , this is a longer bouquet that is made with long-stemmed flowers that the bride cradles in the crook of her inner arm. Orchids, long-stemmed roses, gladiolus, delphiniums and calla lilies are often used in these bouquets.
  • Cascade – Also known as a fountain, shower teardrop or waterfall bouquet, this is a common choice for many brides. Cascade bouquets are rounded at the top with flowers flowing over the bride’s hand to create a teardrop shape. It may be made of any kind of flowers, but many opt for flowers with larger petals like roses, calla lilies, lisianthus and orchids because they look fuller and tend to drape naturally.
  • Freeform –. There are no standardizations for the design of a freeform bouquet and is only limited by the imagination of the bride and the florist. This is an excellent option for the bride that wants a truly unique bridal bouquet.
  • Pomander — A perfectly round bridal bouquet with no visible stems. It is held using a ribbon that comes from the center of the bouquet and hangs down to about the bride’s knees. While not a common choice for a bridal bouquet, this it is a beautiful and unique option.
  • Single Bud –A single flower, usually with some significance or sentimental value.
  • Nosegay – A small, rounded, sparsely packed arrangement of flowers and is currently one of the most popular bridal bouquets. These bouquets tend to have more greenery than other arrangements to emphasize the petals and stems. Ribbons are often used in the arrangements and or the flower stems.
  • Wrist Corsage or Flower Bracelet – Ssmall groupings of flowers attached to an elastic wristband. These bouquets are perfect for brides who’d rather not be encumbered with a bouquet they have to hold.
